B&L 12k Gold Filled ARCO Bifocal Glasses

Early B&L Bausch & Lomb 12k gold filled bifocal eyeglasses in the John Lennon style feature a 12k white gold filled frame that measures approximately 4.5" temple to temple and non-RX bifocal lenses measuring approximately 1.5" in diameter. The value is in the frame of course, an early B&L Arco 12k white gold filled frame with "shooter" ear stems for a secure fit and a really great retro look made famous again in the 1960s and 1970s by John Lennon of the Beatles. If you're like this writer and don't wear prescription glasses but use reading glasses to read fine print and newspapers, these lenses will be perfect for you. The majority of the lens is clear non-RX, but the magnified reading glass insert is at the lower center to give you a 2 in 1 pair of eyeglasses. Alternatively, you can replace these lenses with your own RX lenses or turn them into sunglasses should you so desire. The nose bridge is impressed B&L 1/10 12k GF in the white gold, and one ear stem is impressed ARCO (an early B&L designation for their 12k gold filled frames and stems), part of a Malibu, CA collection of antique and vintage eyewear.
