Giorgio Armani 631 892 Tortoise Shell

Vintage Giorgio Armani 631 892 are one of the most popular of any vintage Armani sunglasses design, with thick front band of rich orange tortoise shell framing the brown Armani mineral glass lenses. The rich orange tortoise shell frame contrasts with etched antique gold that wraps each lens and forms the nose bridge and each of the etched metal hinges. The width of the tortoise shell around the lens is also quite striking, a unique Armani design that immediately captures attention. Held within the tortoise shell and antique gold frame are green Armani optical quality lens, both laser etched with the GA logo in the glass near the hinge points. The subtle etching of the antique gold hinges is a nice added feature that draws the eye to the Giorgio Armani logo on each ear stem near the hinge points. Modern Armani sunglasses have the logo all over the sunglasses, but here it is subtle and understated. The oval lenses measure approximately 1.75" x 1.5" at the widest points, and the unisex frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple. The inside of one ear stem is marked Giorgio Armani Made in Italy CE while the other stem is marked 631 892 135. Rare.
