Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5623 46 sunglasses feature a gold plated Austrian frame coupled with rare Porsche Design purple gradient lenses and a second set of Porsche Design brown gradient lenses. Carrera PD purple gradient lenses were produced in only very small quantities as a special order by Carrera c 1980s, and aside from the eye catching color the gradient density on the lenses is useful if you drive and like to look down at the instrument panels with clear vision free of a color tint. The center hinge of the frame raises to allow the interchangeable lenses to be removed and inserted into small prongs on the frame, and then it clamps down to secure the lenses in place. The second set of lenses is stored in a felt pouch in the included black Carrera Porsche Design clamshell case. The unisex Carrera Porsche Design 5623 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.675" x 2.125" at the widest points with the left lens laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the US patent number while the inside of the other stem is marked Made in Austria 5623 46 130 along with the impressed serial number.
