Carrera Porsche Design 5626 90 Folding

Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5626 90 folding sunglasses are a marvel of modern engineering c 1980s and feature a matte black Austrian frame coupled with brown gradient Carrera lenses. These larger styles of vintage Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses were an innovation made possible by Carrera’s use of optyl, an advanced plastic that was lightweight but had optical properties that rivaled much heavier glass lenses. Both ear stems fold upward midway down the stem and then fold inward which when coupled with folding inward at the center hinge will compress into a package not much larger than a single lens – a remarkable industrial engineering feat. When fully opened, these Carrera Porsche Design 5626 90 folding sunglasses measure approximately 5.675" temple to temple and the lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.125" at the widest points. The right lens is laser etched Carrera Porsche Design along with the PD logo, and one ear stem is marked Carrera Porsche Design while the other stem is impressed with the serial number and is marked Made in Austria 5626 90. Included is the Carrera Porsche Design zippered case, new old stock vintage Carreras in mint, unworn condition direct from an impressive Malibu, CA collection of vintage Carrera sunglasses from the 1980s.
